Looks like it's right up your street SW, a mere £700 + to have that lot on your bike. 42 & 50t will make climbing easy if your legs could go that fast, I find my 36t more then ample.

This is what I don't get. You have raised the gearing of your bike by fitting a larger front sprocket, fitted a dongle to make the bike go faster, yet want to buy something that lowers the gearing.

I very rarely change onto my 42 size sprocket, but when I do, I'm traveling at about 5mph tops. I consider it as a get me out of trouble for a few seconds gear.

As Nealh has said, 36T is ample/perfect for all but alpine climbs, especially when combined with a 15T* front sprocket on the Bosch motor system.

You certainly have me confused. :)

*Equivalent of 37T of a conventional sized front sprocket.

i still have my 16t as i have 11 speed the connex sprockets dont work right with the chain as there not x sync compatible.

the 18t haibike sprockets are 80 quid atm n sod that, not sure id bung that much on a cassette and 70 quid for a chain pffff.

have to wait a while for 1 of those imo just to expensive

its why my chains are expensive as i cant use a 11spd Shimano on my sram xo1 set-up as the teeth are different.

And I thought my megarange 14-34 was low geared!

When I run into a ramp that the motor won't drag me up I change to 34 rear (I have a 48 on the front). I got the 34 to be able to ride home in case of major failure but have only used it for popping wheelies and climbing walls to show off so far...

i can stick a mr cog on my cassette and would be 44t but there 80 quid and wear out fast as made from alu.

same as the 42 i have on it but sram dont sell them so want you to fork out 180 for a new cassette. they was 300 when first out.

also my cassette is in two parts the 42 ring and the rest is 1 piece span the lbs head out that did lol.

Funny that you should say that, as the next bike is running 11 speed.

The chain is an Sram PC x1 and a quick search comes up £17.99 as the cheapest.
I'll either try to negotiate a deal on a bulk buy with my bike shop owning friend, or just do what I always do, and keep a close eye on what is on offer from time to time via search engines..
I've already seen XG1150 cassettes up for grabs at just a touch over £50.00 so that's not so bad.

I hadn't considered the front sprocket aspect though, so will need to look into that one.

when i put the connex on my bike it felt like the motor was grinding at around 12mph and went away over that but then come back going over 20mph so took it off as it was not right.

it also was very close to the motor case with the chain on it so i put back on the 16t haibike sprocket and been fine ever since.

as you can see the teeth are different and was told the connex 1s are not x sync compatible why it did not feel right.

also why i not tried the dual sprocket as not 100% sure it would work with 11 spd.

expensive pita tbh but the haibike sprockets a bit cheaper if you get them from germany 60 euro i think atm.
