I notice at least two fairly new manufacturers using this gear system on ebikes, Momentum and Aerobike, I have also seen questions posed on these forums from competitor companies asking feedback.

Do you think we will see established brands in 2017 and beyond adopting this gearbox?

Whilst die hards probably won't break away from derailleur gears for the casual city cyclist do you think the SR Ram is a better option?

a two-speed hub especially in your Ayrshire terrain, i don`t think so.

i moved away from derailleur to an Alfine 8 IGH, what i appreciate most now is being able to change gear when stopped at junctions etc,

having said that i could easily do with having only four gears to select from as with the torque from the mid-drive means you dont need them all, in fact i shift two at a time in most instances

Thank you for the input. How does the Alfine 8 compare with your derailleur? Are you happy with the hub in general?

I may be ending up in inverclyde in relocating so can be flexible on location as i work from home.

Is the whole of ayrshire very hilly?
