What does the Speed Signal connector do? I've got a controller to use with my Bafang motor that has just arrived. The one connector I don't understand is the Speed Signal connector which I first thought maybe a throttle connection as it looks the same but the 3 cables are red, white and black not the red, black and blue of a throttle connection. The ground and signal pins are reversed in the plug but the Voltage pin is the same and its the same connector. As you can see in the diagram below from a controller different to mine but shows the speed signal and throttle connection next to each other. I don't have a throttle connection on my controller unless the speed signal doubles as one if you change the cable position in the connector, the thing is you can see on the Amazon page it shows the connector with coloured wires of a throttle but that isn't what arrived. My controller is this one;

Will this work as a throttle connection and if it does will it work properly as expected? Why would they change the colours of the cable to match Speed Signal rather than Throttle?

Speed signal is largely redundant unless one doesn't have internal speed sensor, it is for an exterior spoke magnet and speed sensor the White wire indicating the speed signal. It is used should the internal Hall sensor fail or the magnet becomes unstuck or as mentioned one has no internal sensor.
