Does anyone know how I can get hold of spare part for my Eco Expedition bike. I Believe the bike is made in China and you can get spares direct but I can’t find anything to tell me who the manufacturer is. The sensor disc is damaged and needs to be replaced.

The retailer you bought it from should have spares (unless you bought it second hand). PAS magnet discs are pretty generic and widely available on the web. You just need to count the magnets, measure the diameter and check the fitting (some can be fitted without removing the cranks).

Thank you for your reply. I have checked the number of magnets and there are nine. I’ve been quoted about £20 for a replacement which I hope will include fitting.

Hi Jonah
i forgot to mention that, through no fault of his own, the retailer has closed his business.

9 is unusual, normally 5, 8 or 12.

This is puzzling because the chap at the bike shop said it was 6 9 or 12. As far as I could make out there are 10 on my bike. I can’t measure the thing very easily due to its position. The motor works intermittently and in ‘walk assist’ it’s normal and on full power it seems sort of OK. My local bike mechanic was surprised it worked at all.
Thanks for your help with this Jonah.

All my bikes I use a 10 pole disc which is a common number to have, there are no 9 pole ones afaik.
You can use any generic magnet disc/sensor if yours only has 3 wire, the only thing to get right is the wiring order when connecting them.
5v must go to 5v usually Red or Brown wires.
Gnd must go to Gnd usually Black or Yellow wires.
Signal must got to signal usually any colour bar those above, though if Black is used for Gnd then Yellow may be used as signal.

Show us a pic of the disc.
Usually disc's aren't sold on there own but as two piece item inc the sensor.

the Eco expedition website has a description of this thing but the pic seems to have been blanked out. The website is inactive but describes the part as Replacement PAS Sensor and magnetic ring. It has ten magnets. There are lots of you tube demos using this bit of kit. it costs £30.00 but there is no payment method so you can’t order it,

Louise they use standard generic KT/Kuenteng electronics you can use any 10 pole PAS disc/sensor for about £10.
As I mentioned in #7 above you just have to get the wire sequence correct we can tell you how. If you need one with the moulded Julet waterproof connector just say we can find you one quite easily online.
All ebike parts are practically Chinese so it is cheaper to buy direct via China.

For Square taper crank axle.

For exterior bearing type crank axle, like Hollowtech 2.

Thank you for your reply. The really odd thing is that the disc has magically stopped moving round when you spin it, in situ, and the power assist is working perfectly. A mechanic at Everden removed the disc saying it was broken, where it was broken I couldn’t tell, and he said I needed to get a new
one. When I asked him to replace it because it was partially working, he was surprised but put it back. It still was working fully but could get me up steep hills on full power only.
i took the bike out for a ride yesterday, checked the disc, found it was fixed in place and the bike is working fine. I have no idea how this has happened but for the time being, at least, all is well.
Anybody know what might have happene?

What type of BB bracket is used ?
If it is square tape fitting then the disc has barbs on it that grips the axle, it may be a case that it simply came loose and has now gripped the axle again.
May be you have without knowing it managed to get it to grip by moving it or turning it ?
If it does it again a little fix it to remove the chain ring/crank and remove the disc, wrap a turn or two of electrical or amalgamating tape around the axle shaft and then push the disc back on and turning it so that it feels secure.
