Only possible with slim people having a long symphysis pubis*. Much of our population have thighs that are touching or almost touching when they walk, mainly due to excess fat cover. They could not accommodate such a device.

*Symphysis Pubis: The cartilaginous bridging bone that joins the two halves of the hip bones at the front. It determines the degree of potential thigh separation.

Flecc, i wasn't aware that you were interested in the structure of the human race,i thought you were a bird watcher. And if this is the case the chinese will then be concidered to be a sellfish race which i find very hard to believe.

That would be utterly fantastic for those accident victims trying to regain use of their lower limbs and for those who are losing the use, etc.
I think it could be made in another version, with the assist 'legs' externalised.

Are you trying to politely say that most people have fat thighs, so the chafing would be terrible and they'd wind up with a gait ?

Just take off the saddle & replace it with a suitable spike.

That'd get the b*&&**$ moving - Quick Sharp!

Actually this is a very clever device designed to increase worker productivity through cunning insertion into the trousers, apparently already scheduled to be integrated in standard issue Honda boilersuits at the Swindon plant shortly, with the aim of restoring parity with Honda's Asian workforce Quick/Movement ratios.

I think you are wrong there flecc.......this device would probably help all but the immensely obese.

As someone who will admit to.....lets say.....not having skinny thighs......I know I could easily get that between my legs,( even WITH my elongated symphysis pubis  ) and even with someone very fat, surely the device would hold the fat apart whilst using it ?

After all, the battery only lasts for 2 hours and maybe if they incorporate a vibrator it could be used as a slimming aid too, whilst walking, and, well, now I start thinking more about it...... my mind is working overtime at the thought of the uses that it could eventually be put to, with a few add on accessories ....... it could well become THE invention of all time  ;)

Didn't Wallace get there first in Wallace & Gromit's "The Wrong Trousers"?

Anyway, it's not for me, the powers that be would probably limit it to 25kph!

See the answer from Alex above, for many it would soon be painful.
