What a feat! As a Stokie (left 50 years ago when I was 18)can't say I was aware of Tommy Godwin. I was very into cycling as a boy so his achievement must have been kept very low key or lost in the aftermath of the war. The most I ever managed was 120 miles in a day and this was a route a group of us did, probably half a dozen times a year, but to do 200 miles for 500 consecutive days is unbelievable.
