In 2009 I bought a Smarta LX from The Electric Transport Shop in Cambridge; it seems they no longer sell Smarta bikes. I have now a problem with the electrics on my machine. Does anyone know if there is still a retailer who offers service and support for a Smarta LX?

I doubt that you'll find anybody to do the repair. What exactly is wrong with it?

You might find a friendly, local pedelec member with skills to help you

Or the forum may well me able to help you diagnose and repair. The trick is to provide as much information as possible along with photos

And you'll need a multimeter (cheaply available from Halfords or maplins or very cheap via eBay)

While stopped for break the bike toppled in strong wind gust. When I resumed I found there was no power/pedal assist, but the gauge/control unit still showed 2 lights ie the battery power seems ok. I note the throttle is not working. I wonder if a loose connection now, or maybe the pedelec system. I am not technical so not very sure.

I just realised this bike probably uses a brushed motor.... That's an issue when it comes to spare parts as it's old tech tbh , hard to find controllers etc

Yes, it needs someone who knows how to test an e-bike to have a look at it. It's probably something simple. The motor is brushed and obviously it has a brushed motor controller. Such a controller with a pedal sensor is very difficult to find, but the problem is probably not related to either of them.
