Hi
Thought I would ask here to see if any members have had a problem similar to mine, common as it is to have shoulder problems my doc isnt quite sure at the moment as to what my problem is, though from reading on the net i think its a frozen shoulder.
I can not raise arm above head side wards/sharp stabbing pains running down to elbow, when moving arm in certain direction, cannot lay on shoulder ect, it could be tendinitis or even torn ligament.

If you have had a problem same as, how long did it last and what did you do to help solve it. I am on tablets at the mo to try and reduce inflammation then he suggested steroid injection,if they didn't work.

I have no idea why i have it just happened.

Many years ago... a good friend had the same problem.

Lots of things were tried, special exercises, drugs but nothing helped until as a last resort he went for a few acupuncture sessions.

Sorted and all was well :D

Unfortunately there's only one solution, and that's to reverse time so that you grow younger again.

I've had it in both shoulders and both elbows. It lasts about 6 months or more and then goes away, but eventually comes back again. Welcome to the club!

It may well have inflammatory roots for which diclofenac can work wonders. Doctors attitudes to this drug vary, a few will not prescribe it at all due to some very rare deaths long ago, but many do and used as prescribed for a limited period it can have miraculous effects.

See what reaction a tentative suggestion for diclofenac gets from your doctor. I suffered a similar problem in a leg which made me fairly immobile in the Spring of 2008 which diclofenac cleared up and the problem has almost completely disappeared, just one minor brief reappearance about a year ago. I had to get the diclofenac online, but I can't recommend you do that for obvious reasons.

I had something similar except for the stabbing pains recently, got a lot of pain when i raised my left arm above my shoulders and was painful taking off T-shirt, jumper etc. I put it down to a trapped nerve, it did clear slowly after a couple of months.

I have had it a number of times and in both shoulders.
One doctor put it down to tendonitis.
I found that ibuprofen and paracetamol made life bearable.
Right now I have a problem in my knees. They are fine in the day, but come the evening, they become more and more painful if I use them. Sitting still, they do not hurt at all, but try to stand up and it's agony.

Thanks for the replys, had a bad day with it today, but still alive.
Going to hang fire just now with the injections, see how things go in a few weeks time.
