Should bikes come with replacement ebike motor dropouts as standard.

I know this will never happen.

I was wondering if bikes should come with replacement dropouts on both sides so you could swap between an ebike motor and a standard wheel.

You could have the bike come with standard dropouts and retro fit ebike standard dropouts.

SRAM has made a Universal Dropout Hanger standard which has been adopted by bike manufacturers. As the name suggests it is only for one side of the bike, no reason has been given for the other side to be the same

Thanks for reading.

No, it would compromise the integrity of the rear triangle, the universal hanger is an addition to not instead of the dropout. If the frame was designed to take a motor with a 14mm axle then you would need adaptors for all the other variants increasing the costs. Most if not all higher end bikes now have through axles to increase stiffness rather than floppy open dropouts anyway.
