many cycling websites are reporting the death of sheldon brown. a champion of cycling and a great source of knowledge. i am sure many of us have used his web pages. he will undoubtedly be missed.

Yes, far and away the largest possible loss to the web in cycling matters. We can only hope that his site can somehow be taken over and continue for the benefit of others and as a permanent memorial to one of the greats of cycling history.

Very sad news indeed

I have only just found out about this today when I was looking up some stuff on Sheldon's site. I can't believe I missed the post here about it. I have used his site extensively for the last couple of years and found him extremely knowledgeable about all things bike related - he also had a good sense of humour and made me laugh. There was a memorial service for him just recently - must have been a massive turn-out for him. He will be sorely missed and my thoughts are with his family.
