Shaft drive conversion ?

Featured Replies

One for the engineers I suspect

Has anyone converted a shaft drive bike with a mid motor ? Obviously a front hub can be easily added

I had a search around but couldn't find anything and I've no idea how these work other than a series of words like bevels , pawls, ratchets and gears.

I also see a guy selling the Sussex shaft drive on eBay. I didn't think they could be retrofitted but , if they can, then maybe a mid drive is also possible to(to my non engineering mind)

I had a shaft drive Elegance I think it was called from Bicycles4U, the shaft drive was great - simple and clean, shame that the electrics were a crock. The bike got lost with the courier for six weeks then spent another four weeks with the supplier twice over before I got a refund.
