I see the thread is locked after a load of rubbish was posted, which is not fair that I dont have my say, I received the bike as Flec said, in what I thought was perfect order, so I posted, but on the second ride after the bike brake failed. So please Flec dont twist things.
When I received the bike the 2nd time it was damaged, I phoned the company, so dont know where your talking from.
Also at the end a lot of positive was coming out of that thread, new questions asked.
I forgot about the PM section bit, I will take on board the excellant advice given there. Which is supportive, not a slant against my character.
I have only written here the facts about my bike, but burned to the ground, as 'some' people will only use selective reading. I notice you didnt post the problems, and infact I got an email telling me I was making the comapny look bad because of my bike problems, this was a year ago, I delted those post, last year, I wish posts could be retrieved.
Good night, or rather good day.

Yes, the part is the same Gaynor, but for some reason it doesn't seem to
be fitting quite right. I wonder how it would fit if you tried fitting
the front two screws first, then attach the one at the rear last. You
might need a slight shift of the clip that attaches it to the frame tube
when you do that rear one up last. It's difficult to tell from photos,
but I think that might work if it's done in that order. These casings
can be very cussed. On my Twist bike, the plastic motor casings are so
difficult to refit that one could swear that they are the wrong size,
but once I succeed, they seem to magically be ok!
Won't the chainguard brackets straighten? It should be possible with
pliers or an adjustable spanner to twist that lower bracket straight.
I think the pedelec sensor is the problem, since that's a part of the
bottom chainguard strut. I'm attaching a photo of it how it should
look. This reads the rotation of magnets in a black disc on the back of
the chainwheel, behind the strut. It should have a tiny clearance if
you look between the strut and the chainwheel to see where the two are
close. 15/12/2006 18:22:55 GMT Standard Time
Flec goes on to say - It was carrier damage, not your doing.
What's happened here is that the carrier has knocked the base of the bike and dislodged the fastenings of the lower half, and it's probably the carrier who's done the scratching too, judging by that rough handling and the delay in your getting it.
In this case, I've had a look at the photo and it's apparent the
chaincase.
I've been following your
troubles and know of the frustration that you've suffered.
Unfortunately, because it's small and new, the whole of the electric
bike industry suffers from the way the products and service are
handled. However, costs are a problem, taking bikes back in from a
distance can be a very expensive thing to do.
Gaynor says -when I phoned 50cycles, which was straight after I realised what was wrong, and that I still couldn't use it, and then being told to use it without peddling really got me cross. can see their side but I felt they should see my side too, seeing as I only had it 2 weeks, and then get it back in that condition (un rideable) but maybe this can be sorted out easier, I hope. The well known companys on the net would replace your bike in good condition, or give you your money back, my gripe is with the condition I recieced the bike, photos can be seen on other closed thread.
So I did not 'imagine' the problems as was said on the second from last post on the 'problems thread, as quoted selective posts in the now locked thread, as I sent photos of the damage when I opened the box, of course I was delighted when I first recieved my e bike, the first use even made it up to the top of Croft road, fairly steep, but it only made it once, after that the power cut off, I merely needed to get this point across, because it came across as in a whole diffreant light, selective quoting.
Posters saw the condition the bike came back in, I didnt know it was unridable until I took it outside and discoverd the chainwheel mental part was quite bent, it caused the mudguard to stop the bike from being used, I am a lady, I pay for people to do thw work I dont/cant do, like a lot of people, I am a busy mum too, with two special needs children, my e bike is my only form of transport, the buses round here are like once an hour, at one time I would of used the bike to take me up to the Conquest hospital for more blood, but now theres no way I am going to attempt to take the bike all those miles, when I have used it of late, its when I have been riding on the flat, and stopping, goiung extremly slow on the hill, but get of and walk, this is after the 2nd brake failed, which was only 2wks ago, it didnt brake on a hill, just turning a corner.
