I built this bike in 2011/12, but it has been stored since late 2012.
This bike is about 95% complete.
What it still needs:
A strong chain tensioner
A proper rear cog (I used a front gear filed out to fit a shimano hub - it works great, but it moves a bit and sometimes throws the chain at high speed)
Optional Improvements:
Hook up the speed sensor
Hook up the front shimano dynamo
More battery if you want it
Your choice in body work - I took someone's idea from endless sphere and used square PVC
You can see it running here with my girlfriend going about 65% max throttle.
This was immediately after I got it running
Total times ridden: 12
There is not enough capacity for long runs, only about 20 minutes, you'll need to add batteries. However, it hauls butt until the chain flies off.
It doesn't inspire confidence in the turns - It is by no means a deathtrap, but something feels slightly wobbly when you really lean it over - could just be the nature of too much weight/power/speed on a bike frame.
Note, it has no pedals.
I am happy to sell the whole bike. That's easier for me. And if you are new, or want a working bike right away - this is for you.
But I will consider parting it. Below is the list of parts on it. All told there is a good $4k worth of parts on this bike.
Drivetrain:
AstroFlight 3210 - Never overvolted or abused - Note this is Recumpense's custom winding
Castle Creations Phoenix Ice 1 HV160 - Also never abused, will come with the USB plug adapter so you can get data off the ecu.
Cycle Analyst - Good condition, never abused, no damage.
Recumpense Drive v4 - Again, excellent shape.
Hyperion EOS I402i NET3 - Very good charger, in like new condition
Mean Well SE-600-24 - Always used with above charger,
ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 6S1P 30C - Two batteries, charged by the above charger and power supply following all proper procedure, never swollen or otherwise compromised
(May keep charging items for next project)
Secondary Battery - This battery is a lipo backup battery pack, with it's own charger and variable voltages. This provides power to the ECU, and would be regen charged by the dynamo if I had hooked up the dynamo. This would also run lights if I had set them up. Link is for the exact battery.
