I just cant seem to get my seating position right.
I think the height is right...my legs are nearly straight when full weight on each pedal, I think thats the recommended way to get that right.

But I constantly seem to be having to sit back into my seat as I move forward in it.....it almost feels like its sloping down to the front too much, but its angled up as much as it can do, albeit it not much as there isnt much adjustment in the 2 rails and clamp.

Tried moving the seat back and forward, but still cant get it right...any suggestions please?

I think so...m just under 6ft, maybe shrinking now though, frame is 20" on 26" wheels. Seat is about 3 inches from lowest setting on the post.

I'll have a look at that ape index when i get home later and can get a tape measure ;)

I have a the same problem and have recently read that if you hang a plumbbob down in line with the bottom bracket the saddle should be 2 to 2 1/2 inchs back from the plumb line. Mine is not back that far so will adjust when I can.

Quite possible,
I've found that some seat-posts just don't have the adjustment needed for a more upright riding position.
My cube post was on the limit but I soon swaped to a nx suntour suspension post, all the adjustment you'll need ;)
As to saddle to peddle ratio,
Ive always set my saddles with my crank arm horizontal and the ball of my foot on the peddle and the tip of my toes vertically inline with the front of my knee cap. Once the saddles done I start sorting handlebar position out, usually end up with a shorter stem and high bars
