I thought the Bosch system was going to be exclusive to Cannondale, or are they and Scott going to one of many brands to fit the Bosch setup just like what has happened with the Panasonic system.

Is the Bosch system well thought of? Or not?
I have not seen a great deal written about it, probably because it is quite a new system. More than likely, we will have to wait a while before we can benefit from consumer experience. This is usually the best information to make an assessment on.

All that can be said about the Bosch system at the moment is that it seems to be pitched at a price which will snuff out any risk of it being taken up as a mass market item. I don't know, but I expect the battery price will be equally hideous.

Although Cannondale were to be the first, Bosch intended the system be used by many brands just like the Panasonic.

However, I've found this online in this site:

"[FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]After an absence of several years, Scott has returned to the U.S. market under the direction of Scott Montgomery of Cannondale fame. Although the company is headquartered in Switzerland, production comes from Asia, with key suppliers being Hodaka and Giant."

The Swiss connection could account for a link to Bosch of Germany.

Jez.......that is is a fine looking bike, and yipee! no chain guard! But I am sure the spec was rubbished a bit when recently unveiled at bike show:(

Love the invisible battery though!:D

It is a good looking bike, you can't take that away from it.

What is the thing perched on top of the rear mud guard? It doesn't seem to have enough reinforcement to be a rack.

It is meant to be a rack, but really only good enough for some wet weather gear, not goods or spare battery.

Specification is all wrong as it is the 8 speed alfine rather than the 10 speed XT. The 10 speed is substantially cheaper from £2299. Overall I like it a lot but we will wait and see if it adds any extra over my emotion at £1800. I need a minimum of 10Ah and I think this will only be 8Ah so that is a fail to start with.

ps I love my chainguard (mind you it is not that hideous silver thing on the Kalkhoffs).
