Scientific study proves EAB's can be good for promoting better health

This is a study that I find a little difficult to understand at times but I am sure the more academic of forum members can shed more light on it.

At last I can defend those snidy comments like the one heard on the Apprentice when one chap said
"If I wanted to do some exercise, why would I buy an electric bike?" gggrrrrrrr!!!! Luddite!

I think simple logic is sufficient. Clearly e-assistance can enable some to cycle who wouldn't otherwise be able to or wish to. Since the bikes are electric assist and not wholly electric powered, some exercise is inherent and therefore of some health benefit.

Spot on flecc, I wish E-bike had been shown to the general public more often, I for one would have had one at lest 6 years ago.
I now go off for a 16+ mile ride on mine, yet I am having great difficaulty to walk 300 yards due to circulation problems in my legs and still use the PAS.

They certainly do transform lives Artsu, in a few ways too.
Case in point was when my wife was suddenly told she could not drive because they suspected she had epilepsy, her world fell apart. We were both stunned and angry. We walked out of the consultants office and I got straight on to my mobile and called a local ebike dealer who I'd purchased my first bike 2 years earlier and ordered her a step thru version of my bike. She was in tears but we soon turned it into some sort of positive. She was thrilled with it when it arrived and she loved going to work on it and going for rides with me.

It certainly helped her during 18 months of not driving but now she can drive again, she still rides her bike whenever she can. Her driving now has given us both a boost because she can nip to see friends, get horse feed, food, nails done etc and I can go to work on my ebike. I did consider getting another small car but sod it, don't need it... we're doing fine.

I am doing an "ebike shopping trip" in aid of Epilepsy Action tomorrow. Going to Lidl, who kindly donated £40 worth of vouchers, filling trailer with shopping, then cycling to the Billinge and Orrell Good Life Fair where we will be raffling the vouchers to raise money for EA.

If anyone is around that area then come along!!
