Samebike e1 20inch wheel electric bike

Hi ive just bought this bike and everything is fine with power on but when i turn power off ir run out of battery this bike will not pedal forward the front cogs just goturn around with no motion is this normal ir a fault thanks

That's not right. Is the chain going round when you pedal?

The battery shouldn't go down when switched off.

Hi your gonna love this I just got in from work and I thought I'm gonna have a real good look at this crankshaft and basically under one of the chain teeth was a bit of the bike packaging polystyrene that was lifting the tooth off the chain pissed myself laughing everything working fine now cheers for replying it could only happen to me

Interesting, but how did that empty (run out) the battery?

Ok when the bike arrived I turned it on straight away it came about half full batt so as soon as th motor kicked in I thought I was pedaling the bike but because the chain was not actually on properly it was.nt me propelling the bike it was the motor so even without the chain on when motor kicks in you think you are using the pedal assist when in reality your not even pedaling the bike weird hence I was using the batt all day but infact it was on pure electric that's why it ran down when turned off chain was.nt on properly all fully charged and working great now thanks for your interest. This forum will be great for bike problems cheers
