Roodog electric bike

Hi....anyone got/had a Roodog e bike ?

 

I'm looking to buy a new bike and I'm considering the Roodog tourer .

I've decided to go back to a pre 1k bike, I've had a couple at almost 2k and I have not been entirely happy and selling them has cost me £1000 each time and I can no longer afford this expense.

 

There is a dealer 20 mile away from me who claims to stock RDs and a tourer is £925.

The main thing that bothers me is the noise level, my 2k bikes have been entirely silent, how noisy will the RD tourer, being a hub drive, be. ?

 

Before visiting the dealer I thought I would check with you guys for your thoughts.

Mike, only direct drive hubs are silent. Crank drive bikes are near silent, then low assist rear hub, then rear hub. Front hub is the noisiest.

I have ridden 2 DD hubs neither was silent especially so when accelerating or climbing.

Mike,we still have a number of Kudos Tourer models ,either Shimano Nexus 8 hub or derailleur gears. These bikes are solid 'ride to work typ bikes',price from £865.00

But... the Wisper Torque is just about the quietest bike I have ever ridden, it's a rear hub drive and far, far quieter than the Bosch mid drive. It's all in the algorithm!

The SE is almost as quiet, but not silent. Not to shabby for £999!

Mike, if you're anywhere near South Manchester or The Peak District you can hear the difference for yourself and make up your own mind.

Our New Mills workshop have examples of Bosch, Wisper and our own bikes with both rear and mid-drives. You could even try a prototype of our latest bike - the quietest of all bikes I've ridden.

My pleasure Mike, for £1,099 we can now supply the same bike with decent forks fitted. Our Suntour forks have lock out and pre-load, in our opinion hugely important if you are going to have forks fitted.

Not sure if this is any help to you but I put a oxydrive kit on my old bike and it's a lot quieter than the yam drive on my lapierre
