Hi guys Iv found myself on here looking for advice on my bike. The lcd screen has smashed. Still powers on and I can use the bike but I’d really like to see what’s going on. Trouble is I can’t find a replacement anywhere ( seems like it was a short lived connector type. 5 pin with screw together outer) so I brought a cheap one from Amazon. It didn’t work. Connectors went together but didn’t work so I cut and joined wires to make sure they were connecting properly with no joy. I can get the display to power on by swapping the colour wires about a bit and have the wire positions on the new display but I can’t find a wiring diagram for the bike anywhere. It’s a hyena system but I can’t find any info on the system at all. Only a few photos of the same model.

photo of the one which was originally on the bike.

Also Amazon photo of the one which Iv brought to replace it with.

both have 5 wires and all colours are the same but not sure on positions. I needed to connect red and yellow and black to black to get power. The rest don’t seem to change anything and nothing else on the bike will work.

Is the broken one still working? if not, you've probably wiped out the controller by making an incorrect wiring sequence. in that case you need to buy a controller and LCD.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Hyena is a proprietary system with CANbus, so you're pretty well stuffed if you can't get something from Hyena or the dealer.

It would help a lot if you give details of exactly what you have instead of a picture of some random LCD.

Yes the broken one still works. Iv wired that back in for now until I find another solution or an identical one to replace it with.
The new one I brought that was pictured from Amazon was a 5 pin the same as the original with all same coloured wires had a plug that did fit together with the 5 pin screw together fitting just wouldn’t work so I doubt it was compatible for some reason. I just thought they were simple and pretty universal.

The original one I can’t find a replacement for anywhere. There’s no part numbers on it and Iv trolled the internet with no joy. Iv attached a photo in case somebody can shed any light on where I can get one from.

thanks for the help.

If you cant the display from the bikes maker or its agents. any 3rd party option will be a punt as many bike makers will customise the controller system f/w used to communicate between the controller its display and often the battery bms.

A drastic solution may apply if you can replace the control system its sensors in some cases and perhaps even the battery or its bms. With generic options.

Hyena use CABbus, so no chance of Chinese general parts working.
