Hi, I have owned one of these (v1) for last 3 months and it’s been great. Yesterday the motor stopped working, which looking at reviews is a common problem due to water ingress. I am unable to contact Decathlon so does anyone know how I can rectify. I know it’s either the controller or bottom bracket sensor but not sure what to do. The motor and battery are all good as it works fine in push mode and did start working again briefly a couple of times yesterday. Problem started after I washed the bike.

Hi there NigeUK!
I'm having the same problem with this same e-bike. Yesterday I washed the bike and after this I went for a ride. It was going well and suddently the motor stopped working. Then it started turning on and off on my ride back. The push mode works totally fine.
Did you get to solve this problem with your e-bike?
Kind regards, Alejandro.

Washing the bike you have likely had water ingress on one of the 5v lines, as they all share the same pcb tracks. The issue could be any where, Moisture on the throttle, display, PAS or ext speed sensor if fitted or even the controller it self.
I doubt it will be the motor unless you have drenched the motor cable entry.
Once the bike dry's out it should be fine.
One can check all connectors even waterproof ones for signs of copper oxidation/Greening on any pin outs.

Hi,

I did fix the problem by removing the bottom bracket and leaving it in the sun for a couple of days. Speaking to the technician at Decathlon it’s the bottom bracket torque sensor which is the problem. You will need a couple of tools but relatively simple to do. Mines been fine since although wash it really carefully and haven’t used it in the wet !
