New bike is Scott e-Genius 920 full Suspension
Old Bike is Scott e-aspect 910 Hardtail
Both Scott, both29ers, both frame size Large (to suit 6ft 1inch)
Interesting observation..
I have set the saddle of new bike to suit(same as other) but went on it into town today and when stopped at the lights I only just made the road with my toes which I thought was odd because it feels just right when riding (same as the hardtail)
But, when I tried to park it against the kerb I find the pedals are too high to do this..
Is this just giving the suspension room to move or is it something different...

Beginning to see how a dropper seat post would be useful...

Have you set the suspension sag for your body weight. I typically start with 20-25% for both front and rear.

In my experience FS bikes even when set up correctly do have slightly higher bottom brackets than hard tails. Worth checking the set up though.

Kerb height will always be higher than a hard tail with the suspension unloaded.

TBH I don't know how to do that and don't twiddle with what I don't understand.
I have a shock pump and know how to do the forks but not the rear.
Due back at lbs after a few weeks for a check up and will sort the sag then.

on the rear sus there is a screw you just remove it and then can use to pump to add or remove air inside it max psi is 300 rear sus and front forks are 200psi max.

The rear has a rubber ring that shows how far the shock had compressed and on a fast downhill bit that is really bumpy it is pushed right to the end but it doesn't feel like it is bottoming out..
In fact.. this track was washed away in the floods and someone re gravelled it but it is terrible with undulations... a bit like waves and on the hard tail anything much over 10mph had me bouncing about big style but with fs I can rock down at 25 as smooth as silk. So I don't ghink it's far out

you need to screw the pump in to the shock and have a play with the psi as it depends how heavy you are and how you like to ride to how much psi you want.

just ride off a curb then add or remove psi till you get it how you like;)

Isn't there set pressures for different weights..

there is but will need to look on the fox web site for the shock that you have but i find it useless as these are electric bikes and double the weight of a normal bike.

there just a guide anyway so you will need to add or remove psi to see what you like best and set the rebound to fast or slow.

also when going fast down hill you want ur ass over the back wheel why a dropper post is handy ;)

its also why i changed the stem to a shorter 1 and a lot better for me ;)

How does your dropper post cope with all the ** that gets thrown at it?
Also..
I suspect that your downhill and my downhill are very different....

Would you be able to fit slightly longer cranks?
Careful not to compromise the clearance too much on rough ground and with suspension at it's lowest level.
Dave.

post is fine just keep the shaft clean after a ride and when it slows down its time for a bleed and check the psi 250 ;)
