Read $50 us for anyone that can give accurate instructions on how to remove speed limit of Fiido D2S
1. The easiest way would be to buy a standard Chinese controller and control panel (LCD) FROM Aliexpress, Ebay, Amazon or wherever you want.

2. Another possibility depends on how many magnets are in the motor working the speed sensor. You unscrew and remove the sideplate behind the gears. Either on the inside of that one or the other side of the motor you will find the magnet or magnets glued to it. If you're lucky enough to have 6 (50% chance), you can remove three to double the speed limit.

The motor will only go as fast as it's own max speed, which might be around 20 mph. The power will ramp down over the last few mph, so you might get good power up to say 17mph, but the assistance after that would decrease more and more if the speed increases somehow.

3. If you know anything about electronics, you can spoof the speed signal or reprocess the speed signal to a different value.

Only method 1 is guaranteed to work. Some controllers use the motor hall sensors to get the speed signal for max speed control. Until you try it, you don't know what's in yours. Some motors used for bikes that don't have speed display don't have a speed sensors in them.

Thanks for the response. This is a photo of inside the motor. I imagine the magnets are around the perimeter of the rim with pink and blue on them? Seems like more than 6.

You need to show a photo of the whole of that green printed circuit board. The sensor is normally on it at the end not shown, if it has one. The magnets would be on the inside face of the piece you removed that's also not shown. If there is no white wire in the cable connected to that pcb, you don't have a speed sensor, so the controller is using the hall sensors for the speed signal unless you have an external speed sensor. In that case your only option is a software hack that's normally do with a secret sequence of button presses.

A previous post from 2020 indicates that there is no white wire, so unless you can find the secret button press sequence, the easiest way is to change the controller, like in 1. Above.

Is there a controller display combo that you suggest? Attached is my current setup. Thank you

Why don't you just ask Fiido for free? Much of the info for the D2S has disappeared from their website since it was discontinued, but Fiido have/did/do openly publish how to defeat the speed limiter for all their bikes where it's possible because everyone seems asks. In many cases they've even made videos published on their Service Channel to show you how to do it... but not the D2S/G20, so it's likely not possible.

But the motor in your titchy 16" wheel will already be spinning at a very high RPM just to achieve the legal 15.5mph so I doubt it's got much more to give even if you do change the display/controller... My own 20" wheel Fiido D11 when de-limited only gives 18mph... It's the motor that's maxing out, so I doubt your 16" wheel will have much more to give either.

It would probably be worth contacting Fiido first, as he said, but if that doesn't reveal anything you can use any standard controller. The cheapest, like you have with LED display are around £30, £40 with LCD, and £80 if you want a nice control system. All of them might require some minor soldering to change connectors, etc. The most important thing is the size, so if you want to go down this route, please measure your controller.

Fiido is no help, as they only sell parts to replace the current placement on various bikes - none of which suit this intention. I will look into replacing the controller and display and check back. Thank you
