Retrofit throttle.

Hi everyone

I’ve been a watching member for some months now and hope someone can answer a question for me please.

After being diagnosed with COPD (emphysema) a few years ago, the time came to invest in an ebike and I eventually opted for the Giant Full E+ 1.

At the time, it was ideal for me, however, I now feel I need a throttle to assist me up some of the local hills (some of which have been classed as Cat 2 in the Tour de France Grand Depart).

So, does anyone know if it’s possible to retrofit a thumb throttle to the Giant?

Or even modify the bike to accept it?

If the answer’s an outright NO, I’ve already pre-empted this and started some serious research into having to buy another ebike with the throttle as a standard fitment, but would love to hear other people’s views and recommendations.

Unfortunately, you bought the wrong bike. If you want a throttle, you have to buy another one.

When I bought the Giant the local hills were not a problem and the bike was superb but I caught a lung infection after about 9 months and my health deteriorated - hence the need for a throttle.

Looks like a visit to Oxygen Bikes in the new year for a test ride and a listing on ebay for the Giant!
