Replacement batterys (suppliers?)

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've owned my Greenedge CS2 since March 2016. I've been using it almost everyday since to commute to and from work at 9 miles a day!

The battery has started to deteriorate and I was baulking at the price of replacement quoted on e-bikes direct at £299. I was hoping there'd be a decent replacement battery under £200 available from somewhere.

I've seen some batteries on ebay but wondered if it's worth trying a supplier. The battery itself was supplied and has Samsung battery cells.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? It's a 36v, 250 watt motor I have.

You can try any one, but be aware that there are three types. One has the screw connector at the base, one has two spring pins and comes off upwards and the other has 4 blades and comes off from the side. You can use any as long as you get the receiver too with the battery and rewire your connection to it.

Batteries with Samsung cells cost a lot more than with Chinese cells.

Beside the cost of the components, you also pay for guarantee and customer service.

It's worth paying more for a battery with known cells. Those cheap e bay batteries are likely to be generic cells and may even be ones that were rejected by manufacturers as not up to scratch. You could try BGA reworking. They can re-cell your existing battery with known quality cells, they are UK based and give a guarentee. Used the myself and many others on here.

Thanks for suggestions! I agree about the batteries on eBay, don't really want to go there! Will have a look at BGA though
