So I recently replaced my km529 with a s866 display and now nothing seems to work.
I have tried changing stuff in the settings but I can’t seem to make it work, for instance my headlight and taillight don’t turn on when I press the button. And also i spin my wheel and the kilometer counter doesn’t change from 0 any ideas how to solve this?
My bike is the https://www.internet-bikes.com/1033827-minerva-evobike-28-inch-49-cm-dames-7v-v-brakes-zwart/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwgrO4BhC2ARIsAKQ7zUnCP-3Pr26H9Nr8eREs-pggE0j93Lbj11SxNxMTBPiHsx1MwU_ViZoaAm6LEALw_wcB

It doesn't work because the s866 isn't compatible with your controller which is most likely a Lishui model. The software and programming are totally different.
Although the electrics are generic stuff one can't simply just use any old display or controller, they have to be paired or matched from the same vendor or brand.

For the s866 to work one needs to buy a crappy brainwave controller then there is no guarantee both will work because the software /programming may still be different as other brands will also use the s866. To be prudent 100% sure of every thing to marrying up one has to buy a controller and display as a pair.

If changing display then one will have to buy a matching controller.
We recommend KT /Kuenteng controllers and KT LCD's simply because they are about the best after market system to buy , because they are widely available from many vendors one can buy the items seperately knowing they will be plug and play and will work .

With generic china stuff the only connection that is wired as a std is the nine pin hub motor julet.

Hi @Peterrichardsons the link above suggests your bike has a mid drive? if so the controller is frequently embedded within the motor housing and not as exchangeable as those used with hub drives, therefore limiting your display options to only those compatible with your motor/controller.

If you have a hub drive (motor in wheel hub) please ignore me and follow the solid advice above, However if not and you do have a mid drive could you confirm and provide motor details Make? model?

It does indeed have a mid drive , it uses the BEWO drive similar to a BBS01.
No chance of simply swapping the display so you are stuck with the KM display, Lishui also use the KM displays but they won't be compatible as each motor manufacturer uses different programming etc,etc for said displays.
All King meter do is supply the display and pcb within and then programming /firmware etc,ect is down to the brand to program and install, KM will supply the software down loads for said OEM brand to upload and configure.

Then is there anyway to bypass the 25km/h limit on my km529
That will depend on your motor, and the controller system it uses, some mid drive manufacturers practice very protectionist policies and install closed systems. Others limit access to spares and parts to authorised dealers only.

If as suggested above its similar to the bbs01 then probably?? if a system thats been hobbled for the eu/uk market and is sold elsewhere internationally? And spares are available to the public?? Then perhaps? but without a specific motor model# to work with its impossible to say?

If the display doesn't allow it then no.
