Repairing stripped threads on Bafang hub motor.

You could repair the threads with helicoil inserts. I've used these cheap kits many times for different jobs, always done the trick.

Yes, it's very easy to strip them. I just had a look at a SWX02. There's not enough meat on the inside to helicoil or tap out to the next size up, so, if yours is the same, there's not much you can do.

I think, I'd glue the side-plate on with instant gasket and glue the 4 stripped screws in, using the two remaining ones to hold the plate down while the stuff sets. Those screws transmit the torque from the cassette to the wheel. as long as they remain in place, they should be OK.
