Finding my (electric) wheels

I went along to the Redbridge event today and it was great to be able to try out a number of different bikes. One that impressed me as a very simple but light sporty bike was the Momentum Electric Upstart which has two speed automatic gears and a front hub motor. Have any other members of the forum and opinions on this bike?

Unfortunately didn't test this one. Seems a bit heavy for such a basic bike and too dependant on the electric motor with two gears are my thoughts from reading the info.

After finding how much weight affects things im tempted to buy a road bike 11kg and using a conversion kit 6-7kg. Making a 18kg bike with a 8 cassette on the back. If you then run out of juice it's not too bad.

Do not sell it but did like the bike. Spoke to the guy there who was very knowlesgeable and used to work for extra energy. If you live in an area with similar hills to Redbridge test track then I would say the bike was ideal. Good luck with the search.
