Is there a date for Redbridge 2014, and is there going to be a event there next year? We live in Scotland and I will definitely need a new bike sometime next year. I am hoping to try both the Kalkhoff and KTM NuVinci bikes. The sooner I know the date, the sooner I can book a reasonable hotel room in London!

Hi Marny,

You need to ask Kudos Dave for the date etc., and no need to stay in London............unless you really want to visit at the same.

Far cheaper to stay outside the capital within close proximity of Redbridge.............somewhere like Milton Keynes for example where you can also test ride some bikes:D

...And equally Essex is not that far away, its not all TOWIE in Essex, there is some fine e-biking to be had in our quiet country lanes.

I thought Romford (and Redbridge) are well inside Essex!

Crikey! I've just checked. They've moved it. Not even Dagenham is in Essex anymore. They've all joined Eastenders. What's the world coming to?

Hello, the Redbridge event for 2014 will be the afternoon Sunday,May 18.
For 2014 the event will be hosted by the London Electric Bike Company.....www.londonelectricbike.com....the brands present will be those offered by the LEBC....at this time that is KTM,Kudos,BH Emotion and Haibike, all of which have promised strong support on the day.
For those not familiar with the Redbridge Cycling circuit...it is a race track for bicycles with a purpose designed smooth surface track,it consists of 3 loops of varying length so as to offer a variety of testing terrain, including Hog Hill. Despite attending most of the shows in Europe which have test tracks I know of no other venue that is so ideal for testing e-bikes.
Lynda and D8veh took their motorhomes last year and no doubt can advise on the best way to take them to the circuit and park before-afterwards.
The area is well served for hotels, the following within 1 mile...
Travelodge,Beehive Lane,IG4 5DR....0871 984 6193
Premier Inn,Redbridge Lane East,IG4 5BG....0871 527 8542
St Georgio Hotel,Cranbrook Rd.,Gants Hill,IG2 7RH......0208 554 4411
Holiday Inn Express,Eastern Avenue,IG2 7RH....0208 709 2200

By that date all the latest Kudos models will be available for testing...at this time there is an embargo on further info....but the names will be Escape,Tempo,Typhoon,Rapide,Hero 650....also LEBC will have their own entry level bike,I have seen the specification and styling,it should be the best value e-bike in the UK,priced at £695.00...the concept that LEBC had for this bike was to take the VFM of the old Cyclamatic bike but upgrade it to the current best technology....I think LEBC will be making an announcement just before x-mas.
KTM and Haibike will also have most of the popular models available for viewing and many for testing.
Trust that answers your enquiry, but more info will be available closer to the event.
KudosDave

dave, what do you think of the idea of a self build workshop at Redbridge 2014?
members bringing bits that they no longer need but may be useful to others to trade?

On the surface, it sounds like a good idea, but I doubt that there'll be enough interest. Perhaps it'll grow like the Kent Custom and Classic Bike Show that started as a couple of guys camping in a field, and now people bring their creations from all over the world.

I've never been to the Redbridge event, but I'd like come along. Can I bring my bikes and take them round the track?

yes - the track is excellent, speed limited to 15mph, kudosdave's law: you cannot derestrict your bikes though.

The Gocycles were going a lot faster than that last time. In fact I think even I reached 30 mph on a Kudos bike down one of the hills. Who's going to hire the radar gun?

The restrictions on the track are not mine....the track is insured for non assisted bike riding....we all know that bikes that meet EN15194 are effectively the same as non assisted bikes. I think the circuit owners (Redbridge council) didn't really notice bikes that did not stand out.....some of the Gocycle guys didn't do the e-bike image much help by appearing to have high speed power and going round the circuit the wrong way....so I think its all about being sensible,if you act like a boy racer you will be noticed.....the venue is so useful and not expensive it would be a shame to lose it.
