Hello

Can anyone tell me what the maximum range would be for the Wisper905SE in power only mode with no pedalling?

Thanks

Kam
Hi Kam,

The range is going to depend on how hilly your journey is and how heavy you and all your kit are.

The quoted figure in the specs is 40 miles without pedalling. This figure will be an "ideal conditions" range i.e. on the flat with no wind.

Hi Elephants!

Thanks for your reply. I think that will be fine for me. I weigh around 57kg (not sure what this is in stone, maybe around 9). I will soon find out how hilly my area is when I start cycling. I have done all my travelling underground the past 10 years so it will be a big change, lol.

I pick up my bike tomorrow. I will report back after I have ridden a few miles!

Take care

Kam

Hi Oregon,

Your speed and acceleration, especially from a standstill, will also reduce range from that 'ideal' 40 miles, though your light weight is very much in your favour. Maintaining momentum when possible to avoid stop/start situations and accelerating gradually & smoothly where possible will noticeably boost your maximum range, as will using smooth rolling tyres at good pressures.

I think if you have any moderate gradients or have to stop/start much, if you get much over 30 miles you're doing well. :)

I hope you enjoy your new bike & do let us know how you get on when you've tried it out, if you can pull yourself off it! ;)

Stuart.

I always use Google to convert weights, measures, currencies, etc.

Just type 57Kg in stone into the Google search box and it'll tell you the answer; marvellous :D.

Your weight is certainly in your favour for achieving a good range.

I hope you enjoy the bike; you might even find you want to join in and have a bit of a pedal ;).

Let us know how you get on.
