Raleigh Dover delux premium battery replacement

A friend is mine wants to replace the battery for this bike and thinking recell the battery instead of buying a new one.

Just wondering is it difficult to do this job?I noticed there are three pins at the connection instead of two. What is extra pin for?

I think this is basicly a panasonic crank drive. all the batteries are interchangable and i would like to know about recelling too as my battery is just about 70% or 7 out of 10 Ah left.

I think that you'll find that re-celling is more expensive than buying a new battery.

I think a new battery is the way to go. They have a very good working life, so the cost per year is sensible.

I seem to remember flecc posting a picture of the Panasonic battery internals and the individual cells looked like thin flexible sachets which may prove difficult, if not impossible to source.

Thanks Flecc. I can now work out the options. My now 7 not 10 amp battery is potentially up for replacement.
