Just noticed an advert in The Grauniad for Kettler bikes - one of the benefits being a 'quiet Panasonic battery'. Suddenly our Classic bikes seem very downmarket. Perhaps one of the benefits of old age is that one doesn't hear the batteries yelling their uncouth little heads off?

The quiet ones are the worst, just when you least expect it they can explode.
