Hello,

I have a problem with my EMTB equipped with the Bosch Performance Line CX + Purion Display.
Starting up the system, everything looks good - display showing battery voltage correctly, but then after two seconds display shows a symbol with empty battery bars and then shuts off.
It restarts again with the same procedure. No other error codes shown.

Startup OK
44507

Shows empty battery and shuts off.

Bike is from 2019 and warranty has just expired! :-(
I will first exchange the CR2016 batteries in the Purion Display, then I will remove the motor cover to check the cable connections - except from that I do not know what to check.

Anyone who has knowledge of this Bosch System?
An Electrical Schematics would have been great to have.

Regards
Rikard

Check the battery connections themselves. Some Bosch battery mounts are poorly designed. Eg the rack mount on our Motus is vey easy to engage wrong, which then stresses the connections going over bumps etc. These can then become poor connections due to a little arcing. The result of this was not the same as yours, rather it would cut out at random times, but I can imaging your symptoms arising from a similar problem.

A little cleaning and switch cleaner on the connection, together with some old bits of inner tune to steady it better mechanically, seem to have resolved things ... certainly helped. Also more likely to happen on a mountain bike with more jarring. oh, and easy to check.

Update:
Took the bike to a Bosch Dealer today, he could not connect to the bike via diagnostics and Said that this could be an expensive problem.

He sold me a new Purion Display which I should test with and I went Home with the bike again…

Back home, I connected the new display, but issue remained.

Then I started to dissasemble and measure the battery harness and found out that one of the CAN cables did not have any connection at the battery contact….took apart the connector and resoldered the cable - ISSUE SOLVED
:)

Well done for finding the issue, just goes to show the dealers have no idea about the product they sell and are just box sellers.
