Finding my (electric) wheels

I've just finished fitting a 750W BBS02 to my mountain bike but when I tried it for the first time yesterday the pedal assist was next to none existant. When I start pedalling there is a massive push from the motor which nearly flips the bike but then it settles almost immediately to about 120W regardless of which pa setting I have selected on the screen. The thumb throttle works great and the 52v GA pack sends about 1395W to motor according to screen.
I've just spent the full morning trying to get my laptop to recognise the new programming lead so that I can alter the settings to something more usable but the laptop is not recognising the lead.
I went into device manager and manually selected usb to serial port driver and now the lead is recognised but the software still does not find the controller.

Is my lead faulty or is there a specific driver I can download from somewhere?
I tried the Bafang and Penoff versions of the software but still no luck.

I had to delete then write the com number in the part of the program screen where is says com port as in COM3 as the screen was saying COM1 , then connected no problem.
I'm using Bafang program that came with my lead and doesn't require admin permission or anything to run.
Does your lead have the micro LED's fitted ? As later versions of software need that to operate so I've read?

good,

btw what is the spec on that 52v battery you mentioned? Are those the Sanyo GA cells, and do you prefer it over the 48v item?
Yes they are Sanyo GA cells or at least thats what they are supposed to be inside the shrink wrap. This is the first pack I've had so can't compare it to anything else.
Yesterday I deliberately tried to flatten it as quick as possible. Running on the thumb throttle only I rode it flat out with over 1500ft ascent and a lot of 1200W+ riding. The bms cut power at 15 miles with 10- 12 Ah recorded on the Wattmeter IIRC. The Wattmeter didnt have aux power plugged in so went blank when the power cut hence the estimated Ah as I'd checked it a few miles before it cut and it was a 10+Ah then. The pack was only at 28 DegC after it cut so not too warm either.
The pack is 14S4P and listed as 14Ah by the vendor.

That's a good pack if it can give 12 ah in 20 minutes.
The rating of 14 ah is usually discharge over an hour or more.
