The display I selected for my BBS02 is a DPC-18 which has 5 levels in Eco mode and 5 levels in Sport mode. Somewhere l read the odd PAS 1,3 5,7,9 numbers control the Eco levels but no mention of Sport levels. I changed the odd numbers but to seemingly no effect. Are you sure the display is not flashed for a tsdz2 bafang dpc 18 has 5 or 9 levels
The DPC-18 on my bbs01b has 9 levels. I didn't like how the levels were set, so I changed them using a programming cable. You've got the option of connecting to the controller, to see what each level is actually set to.The display I selected for my BBS02 is a DPC-18 which has 5 levels in Eco mode and 5 levels in Sport mode. I prefer the Eco and Sport modes as opposed to 9 levels. Each has 5 levels. My problem is identifying what PAS in flash memory control what levels on display. I have the patch cord and app. There however seems to be an inconsistency in number of levels on display, 5+5, and number of PASs in flash memory, 9. As previously stated, I changed the odd numbered PAS and noticed no apparent change in performance of bike. Is yours a new bike? If there is no change in the way power is delivered, no mater what level you select on the display... as peter.c. said, you may have been sent the wrong display for your Bafang, and the only level available for your use is some set default, or the controller defaults to using one of the levels available in the Bafang controller's memory. If I were you, I would query whoever sold you the kit or converted bike.I prefer the Eco and Sport modes as opposed to 9 levels. Each has 5 levels. I'd be tempted to change each of the 9 levels in the controller firmware and try the bike each time, to determine which if any, the controller is adopting in response to commands from your display, which has 10 levels. I'd assign the values of level 9 (these aren't my PAS settings by the way):I prefer the Eco and Sport modes as opposed to 9 levels. Each has 5 levels. I bought the DPC-18 and BBS02 as a kit and installed on a Raleigh SC 200. Works just fine except requires very little pessure on pedals to go 15 mph in level 1 Eco mode and 20 mph in level 2 Eco mode etc. Bought patch cable and downloaded windows app. Re-programmed flash memory PAS 1,3,5,7,9 settings. Read somewhere these controlled Eco levels 1-5. No one seems to know relationship between Eco modes 1-5; Sport modes 1-5 on display and PAS 1-9 in the flash memory of the controller on the BBS02.Is yours a new bike? You have 10 levels defined in the display, and 9 available to the controller - you can fiddle about identifying which level(s) is/are being used by the controller in response to commands sent by the display, but querying the seller as to why you have been sent the wrong display for your controller may be the better course of action? Thanks for advice. I think we are on the same wave length. Trial and error makes me a little uneasy regarding frying controller. From what I have read, the Bafang displays are a work in progress.I'd be tempted to change each of the 9 levels in the controller firmware and try the bike each time, to determine which if any, the controller is adopting in response to commands from your display, which has 10 levels. I'd also set keep current to 80 (not 60 as below)

That combination would cause an obvious noticeable change to the bike's performance. After programming, if there's still no change in performance when you select (go through each) PAS levels on the display, the controller is defaulting to some mysterious internal default setting in the controller, because you have the wrong display. Or you might find one or more PAS level(s) is/are responsive, because you have the wrong display.
Alternatively you could use settings of level 0 for PAS, and not change keep current.
Ultimately, you may need to insist on the correct display being sent to you.
I fried one, but I will never know whether it was changing firmware settings, or my rubbish soldering skills (much improved since ) which killed it, because after I posted it to China for £20 to the seller's "Diagnostic facility", for extensive tests of a diagnostic nature, he didn't bother to do any diagnostics at all, and simply sent me a brand new controller for free - to be honest, I would much rather he'd actually done some diagnostics and told me if fiddling about with the firmware had bricked it, the knowledge of which (to me) was worth the price of postage anyway. I didn't expect to be sent a new controller for free... but he didn't send me a rubber seal, which cost a tenner from greenbikekit.com. Oh well, it's handy having a spare controller, because I'm pretty sure I'll end up frying anotherThanks for advice. I think we are on the same wave length. If you use reduced settings rather than increased settings in a trial and error way, there should not be much/any risk of frying the controller. Thanks for advice.
