Other than the Kalkhoff site, which does not have (or I can not find) Where can I get more info , such as :
Weight
Frame
etc.

I am trying to see exactly what the differences bewtween this and the S are that warrant another 600 Euro expenditure. The added speed, will it help on hills?

I take it you mean between the standard Pro Connect and the Pro connect S.

There is no material difference between them for hill climbing ability, except that on more gentle hills which can be climbed faster, the motor assistance on the S is to higher speeds.

Motor assistance on the standard Pro Connect is noticeable up to around 12 mph but is all over by 15 mph.

Motor assistance on the S is marked up to about 22 mph but declines after that, all over as it approaches 28 mph.

I don't know the exact weight difference, but it's small enough not to realistically influence a buying decision.

This page may help (all in German): Kalkhoff - my bike... Vollgefederte und sportgefederte Trekkingbikes, Citybikes und Offroadbikes

then click on: DATENBLATT DRUCKEN (about half-way down on the right).

You can do the same for the (ordinary) Pro Connect here: Kalkhoff - my bike... Vollgefederte und sportgefederte Trekkingbikes, Citybikes und Offroadbikes

Intex. At a quick glance, it looks like there are several changes on the S model.

Flat handlebars with bar end grips. Front suspension. More spokes in the wheels. Sports saddle, and a shorter chain guard, (presumably to cater for the extra movement of deraileure gears).

The frame looks identical, and apart from the extra materials used in the suspension, I think it will be of similar weight to the standard model.

Whether or not this makes it worth the extra money is anyones guess.

Regards

Mick
