That became inevitable when the government guaranteed EDF 19p per unit for HInckley Point electricity when it started, about triple price at the time, in order to get it built at all.

That meant electricity users had to get used to a far larger amount than that in future to pay for distribution, so today's prices are just a softening up measure, which incidentally help to pay for wind farms meanwhile.

The Chinese call it re-education.

And the people get caught for the cost of decommissioning too. Triple whammy!
