Power loss

Hi, I have had a Basis Beacon for a year, no problems. great bike but then it started cutting out power especially in Power 1 and 2, then it got worse and even 3rd power was cutting out and now it's totally gone, no power produced at the hub. I have to say it went completely when I disconnected / reconnected the plug just before the cable goes into the hub, only appeared briefly once since. So suspecting a fault in that area, either the plug & socket or where the cable enters the hub, I feel a wire break is possible there.
Are there any ways to check? Can the hub itself be opened to check and repair a connection? The display / control seems to be working fine, just no or very occasional power produced and the display doesn't show power bars as normal as there is now power produced.

If it was cutting out in level 1 & 2, it then much sounds like the battery is at fault .

First things first charge the battery and see what volatge it reads.

Thanks for your answer. I think the battery is ok. It was nearly fully charged when I checked it, it's a 36V battery and was showing 38.5V when fully charged it was 42V,
I've found that when I use the walk assist the bike pulls strongly and continuously without cutting out. I went for quite a way up an incline like that to check. So it also appears the motor itself is ok.
At the moment the bike is working a little better. I've thoroughly cleaned the cadence magnets and the magnetic pickup. I had cleaned them before though.
Still poor on 1 & 2 though and still also cutting out on 3 but I did some steep hills on 3 yesterday and managed to do them reasonably well though with some brief intermittent power loss.

I don't see many replies or indication that more than one person has even seen my issue above. However for anyone interested I have now had the issue resplved. I bought the bike from E-Bikes Direct and although bike was just over 1 year I thought I would try them for assistance and indeed they were extremely helpful and the issue was the crank pickup sensor which has now been changed and the bike is again working perfectly.
The crank sensor has an LED on it but the bike really needs to be upside down to see it. That LED should be lit when the battery is switched on and the LED should flash brighter each time a magnet fixed on a plastic disk on the crank passes the sensor.

Glad to hear you got the issue resolved and you got decent customer service from the supplier.
