powabyke electrical prob.

Hi,
Have got a oldish powabyke to ride as i have problems with my lungs as in emphysema. its a 3 speed model. what happens is when i twist the throttle back for power it sometimes cuts out, and only 2 lights how on indicator. put throttle back and try again sometimes it works ok. has anyone else had problems with one of these please. could it be bad connection or perhaps dud battery. help me please.

If it's sometimes ok, it's very likely to be a poor connection, probably at the battery terminals or where they connect to the bike. Try remaking those connections to ensure they are sound.

I talked to a powabyke owner who said the big solder blobs inside the controller sometimes get a dry joint with the vibration over time. You might want to have a peek.
