Hi I'm Joolz and new to the group. I have had my pinnacle mercury one for a couple of years with no problems. I'm currently in spain and while out on bike it started making a grinding sound, so I turned it off and just pedales back to my camper. The battery is fully charged and turns on as does the controller. Problem is I have no power. Would really appreciate some help if anyone can.

Grinding noise ?
Do you mean an electronic commutation noise ?

You should first check the motor connector is in far enough. It must be ALL THE WAY TO THE LINE, not just in tight. If that's not it, you should check the motor cable for damage, especially where it comes out of the motor or anywhere it runs close to the chain. Finally, check at the controller end whether there are any connection issues or melted wires.

If none of those checks reveal anything, you must do the MOSFET check, which is very easy, but you need a meter, so get one or borrow one if you don't already have one. For that, you need to access the controller, so figure out where it is in the frame, above or below the battery, then we'll tell you how to do it.

Thank you, I will check it all again tomorrow when it's light.

No it's like a juddering but only happend when I turned it on and started peddling. But now I have no power
Do not attempt to power the motor while it's like that because it will do consequential damage, like blow the MOSFETS in the controller or burn out the motor. You might be lucky, but the fact that it's gone from grinding to nothing, would normally indicater that the poor old MOSFETS succumbed to their fate.
