Unfortunately for Photobucket users, things are about to change in a big way as of June 26th. Now the service is rolling out a $399 per year subscription fee for those who want to hotlink images from Photobucket’s servers to display elsewhere. That means that billions of images across the Web now display an error message instead of the image in question.

That's weird. I posted a link today on E.S, and it's still working and the first photo in that thread that you linked to is working and also from photobucket.

all ur pics was also working on here a few hrs ago also then just gave the above img like flicking the switch off 1 by 1 from there servers and none work now on this site or bike radar where i got the link to wtf is going on.

server speed is ok atm so id go get all ur pics cos no one is going to pay that for personnel use a year its a fkn **** take i never got a email about it

I hope most refuse to pay this excessive charge. I'm not against a charge, but to leap from free to $399 is ridiculous.

I've always expected this to happen with free services eventually, it's the way the web is slowly going, and one of the reasons I established my own domains and web space long ago. Two unique domains, plenty of space and as many email addresses as I like for circa £24 a year. That's an infinitely better deal than Photobucket's.
