My mum has bought a brand new Pendleton Somerby and she got no manual. Battery has been charged up and put on the bike. Turn on the control panel and battery shows as fully charged. However the hi assistance level light flashes constantly and when trying to pedal it doesnt feel like there is any assistance. Pressing the Mode button does nothing Anybody know what I am doing wrong?

Use Google to search this forum for a manual. we get a request every week. I've personally uploaded one three times and I've seen at least another three.

It sounds like your bike is faulty. Take it back to the retailer. At the same time demand a copy of the manual and remind them that it's illegal to supply an ebike without a manual. If they say they don't have one, ask them whether you should get Trading Standards to help them find one.

"As well as labelling requirements EAPCs must be supplied with a set of instructions for use relevant to the country in which the EAPC is destined to be supplied. The Standard states that it is obligatory to deliver these in paper form, along with more detailed information to enable access for vulnerable people. Instructions for use should be available additionally in electronic form on demand. The Standard also stipulates that the instructions for use cover all aspects of the safe use of the EAPC, including preparation and making adjustments for riding, maintenance, charging the batteries, and safe riding, as well as warnings related to wear-and-tear and impact damage."

I looked for a manual and downloaded one from here but it was for an older version of the bike. Battery lights were on the side instead of at the back of the battery and control panel was different. Did not find a more up to date manual. If there is one could you point me to where on the forum. Thanks for your quick reply. Halfords built it and I assume tested it so was thinking I was just doing something wrong.

Turned out to be a loose wire. All seems fine now and working the way I thought it would. Brakes don't feel too clever though. I will give it a proper run tomorrow or should I say later today. Just realised it is past midnight.

Doesn't say much for Halfrauds then does it.
Pleased you found the problem, your mum should enjoy using it.

A bit off topic, but I have just purchased the same bike, but I can’t seem to find the keys to remove the battery anywhere. Where was yours placed in the box?
