PayPal Problemo

As regular user of PayPal, I was rather surprised to find that when I tried this morning to transfer funds to my bank account the transaction was reversed and I was sent a message to say the fault lay with my bank account.

After checking with the bank who told me there was no problem their end, I checked that all my PayPal account details were correct and made a second attempt to transfer the funds, but no joy, again the transaction was reversed again.

My next course of action was to phone PayPal, in fairness, after security checks, I spoke to a lady in a far off land. She explained that they had been having problems with transfers today, but the fault should be rectified soon.

A little while ago I tried to call again, but I was put on hold so I gave up and will see what happens tomorrow.

Apart from not being to transfer my funds, each attempt incurs a fee so gradually my balance is getting less and less.

You may have noticed I've never hidden my contempt for PayPal John, so this sort of incident and the problems caused doesn't surprise me. I question their fitness to operate as a financial institution, all the more since their acquisition by ebay.

Hi Tony,

I don't like PayPal any more than you do, but I find it a necessary evil even though they seem to have license to steal.
