Hello!

I have ridden a pashley tube rider for the last 15 years (more or less). I'd like to make it electric but it has hub brakes (front and back) and rear 5 speed hub gears. I'd be really grateful if someone might be able to give me some advice and directions as to how I could achieve my desire. I didn't get any useful advice from pashley when I contacted the company. It does seem to me that I would probably need to look at a crank drive or vivax assist system.

Thanks in advance

Ian

With out interfering with hub brakes a sensible route would be to fit a mid/crank drive such as the bbs01, Tongsheng or GSM if the issues have been resolved. Battery location where was you thinking of placing it, the sweeping tube frames don't look too ideal so on a rear rack might be an idea.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

I don't have a carrier on the bike at the moment but I could fit one so a battery pack could go there or I've seen that tube batteries can be fixed to the down tube under the saddle. I can see that you are in Sussex; I live near Rye. Do you know a good place to get this type of work done in Sussex and what should I be looking for in terms of durability i.e. I'd like the system I fit to be as powerful as possible and to 'go' for a long as possible.

Thanks

Ian
