I’ve been looking ages for the right pannier bags for my Big Bear. I have tried three sets so far. They just didn’t look right to me. I cut them all about but if it don’t look right it’s not right. So i then searched motorcycle bags and found these. I think they look great. They are thick and rigid, looks like leather and keep their shape. And they were only £14.99 for the pair in U.K538E817E-22D5-4310-8992-1FD8D27CA5FD.jpeg3027F7AF-34EE-43E5-8565-0D85E015F1B2.jpeg

Panniers look good and as you say rigid often something that lets bicycle orientated one's down.
Have you a link for them and carry capacity.

Yes, tbe bicycle types i’ve tried are just too thin and just hang there. These motorcycle type are much better. If they’re good enough for a Harley. This is the Ebay link to them. They look more like £100 rather than the £14.99 price.

The Dutch do sensible panniers with thin but rigid pannier liner inserts that keep them in shape, but difficult to get hold of in the UK. Here's mine:

Looks good. Not just hanging there all crumpled up like the previous three sets of bicycle type that i bought.

I spent ages trying to find panniers that are practical as well as looking good. Finally ended up with a set of these double panniers by New Looxs - not the cheapest but they seem to be well made, have inserts that keep them rigid when empty and a 32 litre capacity which should be plenty for a small shop.

I also have a pretty clip on bag from New Looxs too for the times when the panniers aren't needed - they've quickly become one of my favourite cycling accessories brand. I just wish shops would stock some of the Dutch everyday cycling stuff instead of just racks of lycra.

I have just bought a set of the OPs panniers, they are excellent, so I ordered another set for my other bike.
AND
At last, I have found a use for the rat trap

They really are such good bags. They fit and look great on bicycles. They cannot be found on bicycle bags search, only on motorcycle bags search. If they just added the word bicycle to the title they would sell like crazy. Maybe someone should buy a load of them for resell. A right money maker there.

Do these have any tie back/securing on the back to prevent any slapping against a pannier rack ?

No need to answer just seen the pic on ebay has a very small D ring on the back.

So M.H or M.K how strong dose this D ring look ?

These bags are more like boxes. Mine are just tied together and slung over the carrier, trapped with the rat trap and there you are, I do not have a proper pannier frame (No side legs, see TONARO) but they just sit there not moving.
The D ring seems plenty strong enough if you use it.

Have ordered a pair for my 700c for use with my top rack bag, they will be sturdier and more resilient then the drop down/zip side panniers. Will offer more protection for my camera and spares I carry etc, as well as being more water resistant.
The flap fastener is likely to be the weak point as they may eventually crack/ snap due to uv light or accidental damage.

Just wondering whether to treat the outside with some sort of waterproof spay.
Probably worth using a proofing wax on them 2 or 3 times a year to keep some water proofing qualities and help prevent drying out and splitting.
