Hi, has anyone retro fitted the optional throttle that comes with these ebikes? Some advice needed.

If you mean the thumb type, yes I have, on an Oxygen S-Cross MTB.
I fitted it to the RH side of bars, working from outside to centre... bar grip, brake lever, throttle, gear levers and a bell.
It's a bit of stretch sometimes to access all the levers, make sure you leave a small gap between the components, especially the throttle, it might become tight to operate.

My query is that it has come with the connector closed off. I am too nervous to pull at it too much, I have tried but cannot see a way to get the end off the connector to be able to connect the throttle.Pictures to help explain.
Looks like there is a blanking plug on the connector. They are a tight fit, but hold both ends of the connector and pull firmly, it will come apart. Make sure you line up the arrows when you connect the throttle
As wheeliepete says, they're tight, pull hard (I hope my partners not reading this

Well it turns out I am really weedy , asked my son in the end and he just pulled it apart first time of trying. So After much fiddling about trying to get the levers not to knock against each other, I have set it up. Looking forward to my first ride.

Well, motor stopped, gears slipped, throttle failed. overall a disastrous first ride. Wondering if I have just made an expensive mistake.

It seems the bike had been damaged in transit, possibly stood on. Flipping couriers. Matt at e-bikesdirect has been fab and I got a call from Dale at Oxygen over the bank holiday also. Fabulous service.
