oxygen or haibike

Hi! The 2 bikes I have for consideration are 2 different beasts but bear with me:

 

Oxygen S-CROSS MTB (2017)

 

Haibike SDURO HardSeven 4.0 (2017 Electric)

 

And i just wanted some opinions... £400 more for the haibike ... worth it? £ wise I have 1500 - 2k to play with.

 

Use: work commutes, some steady and sometimes hard hills, some basic mountain bike offroading but mainly regular, daily street commuting but I prefer mountain bike style over road style. Bike can be kept inside daily.

 

Upgrading from a greenedge cs2 so the oxygen seems very similar but a better battery, where as the haibike seems like it may last longer and the system itself looks completly different with the yamaha motor system in the middle over an 8fun wheel motor in the back wheel like my cs2 bike...this being the major difference but i have no experiance with them yet. Any ideas what the battery life is like on both? £430 to replace the oxygen battery im presuming the haibike is more but may last longer?

 

Would consider others, but has to be avaliable to buy on finance. Any opinions greatly apprechiated! Cheers

tho they are made to last but way ott price wise and 100 more than a bosch batt.

I don't see any reason why the Oxygen wouldn't last just as long as the Haibike, I have experience with the CB version of the Oxygen, it's well built and I think it will last a long time, mind you I use only on roads.

 

The MTB improves on the CB in several areas, the brakes, gears and suspension are better on the MTB, the battery on the MTB is equivalent to a 500wh battery, I did 37 miles on maximum power in a hilly area, I conserved power on the downhill by not pedalling, I also did 30 miles on maximum power when cycling and using power and not conserving it as much.

 

You have eighteen possible power combinations on the Oxygen, 6 PAS levels which you can use with Eco, Normal or power modes, I use power and maximum PAS level six and get very good range, on lower power levels it should do over fifty miles.

 

The Oxygen battery is mostly in frame, looks good, indeed I think it looks a classy bike and customer service is excellent, all things to consider but in my opinion it will last as long as any Haibike or any E-bike.

 

The only thing I would add is I think any E-Bike that is not full suspension won't stand up to really tough punishment if subjected to tough off road use, if its light off road use they should be okay but again there are others here who can advise better on off road use.

Where abouts in the country are you... you might finding riding both will make it clear to you which one you'd one to be on. Its might also be worth trying others.

Bristol england uk. Cheers for the advice so far. Yeah the oxygen is practically what i have now but better battery where as the haibike looks more fun for offroad. I basically just need a reliable commuter if anything.

I know KTM did not mention it but they are worth a look for sure I have a Haibike 2 years old just needs a little TLC but great bikes personally I would go MTB more possibilities longer term

My Oxygen EMate is very capable off road, although I only use it on bridleways rather than anything too technical.

I've got a Haibike, totally recommend it. Gets me out on the road too if I lock out the suspension back and front as well as pump up the tyres.

Bear in mind the Oxygen can easily be de-restricted and I find it can do 22.6mph on the straights with just light pedalling, on a steep hill I found I could do 12 to 13mph and my legs are not that strong.

Yeah awsome, I got it. See pic! Finding it new without the throttle and also getting used to how it all works best as i find it to acellerate really well then it kinda feela like its pulling me back a bit when up to speed on hills. I really want to de restrict it to see if it feels better and will research how, any advice as always is apprechiated. And thanks for all advice on this.
