Hi

Does anyone have a good recommendation for good lights for a bike?
My bike has busy handlebars, so I would like to utilise the existing light mount on the front forks for a brighter light.

Also, the rear panier one, I would like it to be brighter, and also flash. This one is mounted under the panier, but you cannot easily change the battery. I do have a saddle bag, so a seat stems mounted one is out of the question.

Only reason I ask is I was out and about exploring yesterday, and as I was coming over the mountain with the sun ahead of me, I was very aware that even with my bright yellow jacket, cars may not be seeing me until a little late on the main road, which made me very nervous.

Thanks in advance

James

You can exchange the front light for any other, but you can't use the wiring that's there because the power is switched by the controller and it's only designed for low power lights. A high powered replacement needs to be connected directly to the battery with its own switch. You can get at the, then thread the wires out though the hole where the other cables come out. As always, people never tell you what bike they have, nor show a picture that allows you to recognised it, so I can't give any more details at this stage.

On my bike both lights have their own batteries and are not connected to the main battery so wiring won’t be an issue as I don’t have any.

There is also a rear light from ebay, that goes under the saddle, with the features you mentioned, plus its a loud alarm with a remote control and USB charging internal battery.
When using just the alarm, the battery holds up for over 3 weeks, maybe even longer.....
Once you loosen one screw, you can slide it out, provided you know how to release the clip as well, though I simply added a USB cable, to the bike's USB socket for charging smart phones and GPS units, and left the screw tight. It would be difficultt for a thief to find easily.
I think that most bikes are better if they have a USB charging facility.
My first e-bike, when the main battery was empty, cut power to the front light, not good at night, and since then I buy lights for normal rechargeable batteries, and never had a problem since!
I hope this helps.
