Hi,
just found this site. been given a non working swifty liberte. hope to get it running so I can get around easier. walking too far causes issues
cheers
Alan
Swifty Liberte. looks almost unused. switch on and all powers up but no drive to motor.
display lights up battery level shown, can set assist level. When pedalling no assistance from motor. Where do I start fault finding ??
just found controller, Model b-wzkd3613ka-jm102-f4
made by tianjin santroll. Its full of 'hot glue', as per piccy, so no chance of getting to pcb for test/repair. are these good ?? reliable ?? how can I test it ?
You can test controller mosfets to see if they are shorted and one can test the motor Halls for failure.
Mosfets means new controller , Halls means motor repair or running using a Hall less controller.
Do the above tests before spending any money to be certain of the problem.
Before anything, you must check that the motor connector is in all the way to the marked line, not just in tight. Many people don't know that, and it's a very common problem. If that's not it, check the motor cable at the controller end.
Thanks for all the help
Mosfets seem good, I'll get to hall sensor testing tomorrow
I have one 5pin and one 6pin connector, how can I be sure 5pin is hall ?
do I have to follow wire ? I assume the other one is the display
Yes , red/black/blue is PAS sensor and other pair brakes.
With the sensor make sure the magnet gap tp sensor is 1mm and check that the magnet disc is fitted firmly , it musn't be able to rotate around it's axis manually.
5pin is Red/Blue/Black/Green/Yellow.
6pin is Red/Blue/Green/Yellow/Black/White
I was assuming 5pin to be hall as its 5 pin in the testing link you sent
The 6 pin is the Hall sensor , the extra white wire is for an internal speed sensor which one doesn't need to test.
The link is an old link but still valid for modern motors with the speed sensor, one only needs to check the three main Halls of the motor PCB board of Gr/Blu/Yel.
OK, would appear to be green Hall sensor not responding as per the other 2
Where do I go from here ? Is the motor a diy strip down job ??
other option was hall less controller .... what do I lose ?
Where motor cable enters hub there is damage to outer sheath, but not to interwoven screen, could green wire be damaged here ? is this diy fixable by stripping motor ??
