Odd little loss of power

When powering uphill on the Agattu, I sometimes like to experiment with gearing. I have found that when I change quickly (still pausing slightly) from 4 to 5 or 5 to 6, the bike feels heavy as though power has dropped considerably. I then have to change back down to regain thrust as it were ..but then when I change up again, the power has returned/responded correctly. It's very odd and if I don't change down, the power returns after a few seconds.. It's only a very short period 2-4 seconds maybe but in that period I can loose momentum. It seems to happen more often between 4 and 5. Also, if I skip from 4 - 7, though hard to pedal I can feel the power surge and continue to assist.. It doesn't always happen but when it does it's a little annoying, as though the computer chip is struggling to keep up with my manual decisions.

Any thoughts.. oh great and glorious ones?:D

I think that probably is it, the software momentarily getting confused and needing a moment to sort itself out. The same thing happens if you start pedalling immediately after switching on the power without waiting for the self diagnostic to complete, the power can drop away.

That is what I suspected.. Thanks Flecc for the reassurance that all is well.
