I have a no hall panda controller on a bpm hub with a simple led handle bar panel

No brakes, no pas

The fault is that despite full and new battery the controller switches off after a few yards. Maybe as higher load applied.

Only unplugging and plugging battery back in again works . Simply switching led on and back in again doesn't work

Very odd

Any ideas ? Battery reads full 42v and works fine in another bike

Would wiring issue make this fault. Seems unlikely given the battery plug in/off.

Hi Kirsten

Does it ever manage to go further then a few yards or is it always cutting off when you accelerate?

What happens if you lift the wheel off the ground and accelerate, does the wheel spin up to speed?

It could be the motor drawing too much current which might happen if there was a problem with the motor - but if you say it works OK with anotehr controller then probably our controller is duff.

Have you tried it with another no-hall controller? Possible that the no-hall control sequence (which relies on interpreting the signals coming back down the motor wires) is getting a bit stuck.

A bit more info and maybe pictures would be useful. We will be happy to send a replacement if it turns out the controller is not working properly.

I've tested a bit more and it's def connected to load /amps

With no load it spins up no worries. Load kills it. Even a small bit of brake kills its (no sensors to cut it)

I've used and abused for ages. I don't believe it is any fault of panda bikes.

If it does need a new one a discount would be appreciated! But a free replacement would be unfair in this case

Of course that's top notch customer service. Thank you !

Well this fault occurred on the road so couldn't diagnose.

I spent the evening testing all wiring, taking apart and putting all back together

All fine now and I cannot replicate the fault

I can only surmise it must be a dodgy connection somewhere . Buggered if I can find it though

I'm forced to assume that a dodgy connection means the controller couldn't pull the amps it needs and shuts down as a protective result.

Only a full reboot by way of battery removal and replacement will reset it.

Simply on/off doesn't.
